10 Things To Do In Southampton That Don’t Involve Drinking

Sometimes we can get sick of constantly having a hangover (literally), so here are some things to do when you don’t feel like drinking.

1. Bowling at Tenpin.

It’s a little out of the way, but if any of your friends drive, then Tenpin would be perfect for a classic bowling night.

2. Listen to some acoustic music at Monday’s Burgers ‘n’ Jam at the SU.

You can buy a mega burger really cheap and then either enjoy the music or get up and perform.

3. The Yates pub quiz.

Nothing can really beat a good pub quiz. It’s on every Sunday and you can win up to £1000.

4. Go to Mo’Club.

You can now Roller skate whilst listening to Nicki Minaj and Drake. It’s certainly more original than Oceana.

5. Cycle around the commons.

Southampton let you rent bikes out, so take advantage of this and see the sights that your mum has been begging you to.

6. Go and visit the Solent Sky Museum.

It’s a hidden gem in Southampton. It’s only around £7 for entry and will probably be more productive and educational then Netflix and chill.

7. Actually see a play at Mayflower Theatre.

People travel all around the country to visit the Mayflower, so take advantage of living so close.

8. Play retro video games at The Alex.

The Alex has loads of retro gaming systems like the NES. Perfect for releasing your inner child.

9. Take advantage of your common room.

LFW has a pool table and most of the other ones have a Wii and a TV. You won’t have to spend a penny. So have a movie night and enjoy being somewhere other than your uni room

10. See a cabaret show at The Stage Door

The newly converted bar and restaurant now show amazing acts like cabaret and theatre. It’s definitely something new and different to do.
