Solent Has Been Nominated For A Times Higher Education Award
If you’ve never heard of the Times Higher Education awards, don’t worry, you’re not the only one. However, it may be time to start doing your research (i.e. Google), as Solent has been nominated for the ‘Most Improved Student Experience’ award.
The Times Higher Education Awards are an annual ceremony celebrating the achievements of the UKs universities.
The prestigious awards have been running since 2007 and have since become one of the most highly anticipated events of the year for the countries universities.
Some of the roll-off-your-tongue categories include: ‘Widening Participation or Outreach Initiative of the Year’, ‘Outstanding Contribution to the Local Community’ and ‘Outstanding Contribution to Leadership Development’
Previous winners of the ‘Most Improved Student Experience’ category include: Cardiff Met, Queen Mary and Chester.
Solent will be up against University of Gloucestershire, University of Derby, Canterbury Christ Church University and University of the West of Scotland on the big night.
Vice-chancellor Graham Baldwin is delighted with the nomination, commenting: “Our approach has always been creative, inclusive and student-focussed, putting students at the heart of all that we do and it’s great to see the hard work and commitment of our staff recognised in this way by the students themselves.”
The winners will be announced on Thursday 26th November, so whatever you do, don’t forget to mark the day down in your diary.
