9 Types of Media Student You Find at University
When studying media, everybody tries to create and cultivate their own and unique identity. However, some profiles seem to appear quite often.
1. The social media addict.
In addition to having an account for every social media platform, this person cannot stop checking Facebook, tweeting, or posting selfies on Instagram.
2. The YouTuber.
There is always someone in your course who performs funny sketches on YouTube, hoping to get famous.
3. The politically engaged one.
During lectures and seminars, there is always someone who passionately starts a debate about the political system in the UK.
4. The fashion blogger.
Many who study media have a blog on which they review beauty products and present their OOTD.
5. The music aficionado.
This person, whose secret dream is to produce musicians, can be found in any module concerning music.
6. The journo.
The journo writes for any publication, either online or paper. Whilst their only obsession is to get articles published, their real aim is to reveal the new Watergate.
7. The gamer.
This coursemate spends every day playing video games. They probably wrote their dissertation on Call of Duty.
8. The photographer.
GoPro, iPhone, DSLR – this person has them all and takes pictures of everything.
9. The one with no media profile.
Whilst some social media activity is expected from anyone studying media, there is always the anti-conformist rebel who has no Facebook page.
