A Lecturer Accidentally Emailed Her Students a Link To Porn

If your lecturer is emailing you, chances are it’s good news: either a cancelled lecture or some helpful reading. But what would you do if they accidentally sent you a link to porn?

Lisa McElroy, a law professor at Drexel University, Philidelphia, is currently under investigation after an email she sent titled “great article on writing briefs” contained a link to a porn video called “SHE LOVES HER ANAL BEADS”.

Although her students no doubt found the unfortunate copy & paste error funny, the university took it very seriously.

An apology was sent to all students and Prof. McElroy was suspended pending an investigation.

Above The Law, who originally reported the story, claim this action is a step too far for what should have ended with a red-faced apology.

It’s also been noted that the email was sent at 5am (pretty early, even for a law professor), and that certain viruses can send links to porn to people in your email contacts.

Whatever the case, students at Drexel are now officially calling the incident #beadgate.
