Meet Bubba The Cat Who Goes To School and Has His Own Student Card
Not everyone enjoys going to school, in fact most people hate it. But this ginger cat named Bubba isn’t like that.
Leland High School, San Jose, USA, is home to the feline member of the student body. “One teacher made the mistake of buying treats for him,” said Amber Marienthal, the cats owner, when speaking to San Jose Mercury News. “Bubba would meow for treats. [The teacher] got sick of the noise.”
After that the cat began waiting outside the door for more treats and is now a regular visitor to the school.
Students have created a Facebook page dedicated to Bubba, which currently has over 30,000 likes.
“People want me to get him on Instagram,” said the owner. “I only have so much time to devote to my cat’s social life.”
Bubba has featured in the student newspaper and yearbook. There’s even talk of getting him a cap and gown for graduation.
Bubba has been seen lying in the middle of the school’s football field during practice.
He was also once accidentally locked in a classroom for 36 hours, until a security guard heard him meowing and set him free.
He spends so much time at school he was recently issued with his own student card.
“He waits for school to start, and he doesn’t come home until all the sports are done. As long as he’s alive, I think he’ll hang out at the school.”
Surprisingly, there’s been no complaints from staff about him distracting students.
If only every school had a Bubba.
