In the 2013/14 academic year there were 14,660 female students studying engineering & technology degrees, compared to 84,070 male students.

And it continues through to employment.

A study by Reed.co.uk found that, in 2014, 97,681 women applied for engineering roles, compared to 753,263 men; showing an 87% gender gap in the industry.
