If You’re a University of Birmingham Postgraduate, You Need To Enter This Competition
As you may know, the University of Birmingham has many exciting projects happening lately, such as its recent acquisition of a listed building on Centenary Square and the redevelopment of its Edgbaston campus. In addition to these “architectural escapades” that will undoubtedly be beneficial for all current and future students, there are also some exciting things going on for postgrads.
UoB are hosting another Research Poster Conference on 15th June, and if you’re a postgrad there, you’re going to want to enter it.
Open to all postgrad researchers at the University, you’ll be presenting a research poster in the Great Hall to what is thought to be the largest interdisciplinary gathering of postgraduate researchers in the UK. According to the University’s website “the conference is a great opportunity to gain experience in presenting your research to a non-specialist audience and networking with other researchers and academics from different disciplines.”
Oh, and there’s a cash prize of £1,000 for the overall winner. Now, wouldn’t that be a great help funding your postgraduate research? The best news is, even if you don’t come first there are still many more prizes to be won, such as “Best Poster Design” and “Best Poster Presentation”, neither of which would look bad on your CV.
So, if you’re a UoB postgraduate researcher and you’re interested in getting your creative juices flowing, you can find out more here. The deadline for applications is 3rd April 2017.
