If You’re Looking For a Great Social Life at Uni, Here’s Where You Should Study

There are many factors you need to consider when deciding where you want to study. Aside from the more obvious ones such as the quality of the teaching and affordability, it’s equally important to consider the quality of the social life that will be on offer for you. Thankfully, a new study by Globehunters makes this much easier to do.

They have compiled The UK University Town & City Social Life League Table, ranking UK university locations according to “six of the main things which contribute to having a great social life outside of studying.” These include: student population, nightlife, restaurants, cinemas, shopping centres, and theatres.

Here are the top 20 towns and cities which, according to their research, offer the best social life for students in the UK.

1. Crewe

Big Bill is a rather humorous name for a clock tower in the UK. Built in 1955, it stands in the middle of Crewe shopping centre. Although Crewe doesn't have a lot to offer, for a long period of time it has been a hub for all things railway. It also offers me a base and a bed for what has become an annual railtour with Pathfinder tours and Crewe based class 37 DRS locomotives. #bigbill #crewe #clocktower #sunset #cheshire #ukpotd #bestukpics #thehub_uk #total_uk #uk_greatshots #loves_united_kingdom #uktravel #traveling_uk #discovergb #icu_britain #capturingbritain #explore_britain #explorebritain #visitbritain #myBritain #britains_talent #photosofbritain #brilliantbritain #excellent_britain #unlimitedengland #picoftheday #photography #j_on_tour
