This Student Used Her Breakup As an Excuse For Handing an Assingment In Late And It Worked
When it comes to handing in assignments late, there are very few excuses that cut it these days. Naturally then, you’d think that using a recent relationship breakup as an excuse for submitting something hours after the deadline just couldn’t possibly work. That’s where you’d be wrong though, because Rachel Harriman, a 19 year old student at Ohio State University, did just that.
Harriman submitted an assignment a few hours late after her boyfriend broke up with her. She then sent this email to her tutor:

Either honesty is the best policy when it comes to late hand-ins, or Harriman has one of the most understanding tutors ever because she later revealed that she didn’t lose any marks for the assignment being late.
She also received this understanding reply from her tutor:
As well as several encouraging Tweets of support.
