You Could Soon Be Able Study At a University Owned By Manchester United’s Class of ’92
If you’re a Manchester United supporter, this might just be the news you didn’t know you’d been waiting for. The football club’s infamous Class of ’92, including Gary Neville, David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Phil Neville and Paul Scholes, is reportedly planning on opening its very own university. Yes, really.
The university would apparently be dedicated to providing degrees in sports, business and media.
The former Manchester United players started a company called Class of ’92 Ltd which will be able to launch the university thanks to a bill soon to be passed by parliament that relaxes restrictions on private companies doing just that. It’s likely many other companies will be doing the same once the bill is passed, pioneering a new era of privately owned institutions that can mould students into the perfect graduates for their business.
Speaking about the project, Gary Neville said: “I have been working on a feasibility study for some months on an exciting educational project but by no means is it ready to speak about in detail.”
According to The Times, a source revealed that “they [the Class of ’92] are keen to ensure that the next generation have the ability to succeed at the highest level.”
Would you study at the University of the Class of '92*
- Mate, I'm already working on my personal statement.
- Not a chance. No one would take me seriously with a degree from there.
- It depends on whether David Beckham will be taking some of the lectures.
